I’ve always embraced craftsmanship as a creative outlet and a way to constantly challenge myself to grow. I made my
first knife as a birthday present to myself in 2013 and enjoyed every step in the process. My first thought when I held
the finished knife in hand was, “I want to do that again, but better.” Hundreds of knives later, I am indeed better and
still growing in the craft of knifemaking. The challenge of freehand grinding, the endless possibilities with materials,
and the satisfaction of holding a finished, sharp knife in my hand still fascinate me.
All DF Custom knives are handmade, by me, at my rural home in upstate New York. Every step of the knifemaking process is done manually, from the original design drawings to the final sharpening and sheathing. No two of my knives are exactly the same, and each is truly its own passion project. What initially started as DF Custom—a nickname given by my friends—has now evolved into a brand that I am truly proud and passionate about. Whether you're in the military, a hunter, a chef, or simply someone who appreciates using a well-crafted tool, my goal is to deliver a knife that meets your specific needs.

I love connecting with my customers directly throughout the order and fabrication process to make sure that they get the knife they’ve always wanted. I also offer full customization on all of my knives utilizing a wide range of materials and finishes.
